Watch Designer Urban Picasso / Recording Artist KJ Denhert Collaborate in Marketing Deal

When recording artist KJ Denhert represented by Rachel Olin reached out to me about my ladies Urban Picasso brand watch I was simply happy to hear about another person who liked my style of design. But this was the beginning of something more than the admiration of my timepieces. She has recorded a song titled “I Got Time” and truly loved my watch which was the perfect fit for the title of course. Not only does she have time, but she has my time!
When I listen to her music I hear and feel motions of emotions and I try and place her colors from my personal genres of music. I’m a serious jazz aficionado but also dig the Latin rhythms (Sergio Mendez “Brasil 66”) and World rhythms as well. But when I read she was influenced by Joni Mitchell, Carole King, and James Taylor etc. I smiled because I really dug those artists to in my younger years. It’s kind of funny in a way, because my father was a huge Joni Mitchell fan and that’s not because he actually knew her, she had a serious folk sound that was a style of her own. He knew a lot of artist and I simply enjoyed music. KJ also mentions an artist who I was his #1 fan and that’s Hubert Laws the quintessential flautist of the 70’s under the CTI label, man did they have great art on the album covers.
How do you say thank you to someone that shows a genuine appreciation and admiration of your work? Of course it’s easy to say thank you, but sometimes thank you isn’t enough. Sometimes you express pleasantries and simply get down to business. However, with KJ and Rachel getting down to business wasn’t simply the exchange of pleasantries; it was built on a clear and mutual respect of artistic balance and harmony of two creative minds finding each one’s center , and thus sharing in real appreciation and grandeur of each other’s abilities. My love for the arts and especially music makes this all the more special for me. Perhaps I’ll dust off my various saxophone’s and flute’s and somehow pretend to be playing in her band.
The lyrical “Girl Like Me” is a stunning and hypnotic Latin jazz fusion piece that flows endlessly like the Orinoco River of Venezuela with a great background hook that is sultry and hip. Our Urban Picasso “Radiance” has a flow just like that. It’s unpretentious in design but carries its hook in the three steps with rounded edges that give a soft and exhilarating look and feel to the watchcase. The radiated “gullioche” dial or face dances away from the center like musical chord progressions and are captured by light for the remarkable appearance that derives from it. More created beauty is in the rimless recessed design of the three sub-dials are white Mother of Pearl that capture the time in minute sequences and truly capture the meaning of “I Got Time” because its function causes time to stand still with a press of the button pushers.
Other common grounds for collaborating with KJ is her genuine dream coming to fruition over time well dedicated to her passion and blossoming into her essence of reality as an artist to fall in love with. My dream of designing watches isn’t without the same visions of dedication and personal fulfillment of accomplished goals with so much more to say and do. Like the beautiful chords and melodies of a musical artist such as KJ, my chords and melodies are not heard, but rather viewed with the same understanding as hearing the chords and melodies.
Our joined union will allow for our arts to be seen from a vantage point that true lovers of the arts will surely appreciate. I will certainly be inspired to create my future collections from a more harmonious understanding through the encouragement of universal language. To the fan base of KJ, I pledge support and acknowledge your loyalty to a wonderful person and humanitarian whose passions inspire us and radiate from deep within.
I invite you to share in the duet of synergy produced from artist of dissimilar genres but complete as any pair of gloves worn on a winter evening. Can this Man-child of heart find a splendor in the relationship of KJ Denhert and her music, an as sounding yes is the answer!
